At age 7 Tom borrowed his parents Kodak DouFlex camera (which he still has today) and started making images. By age 9 he taught himself how to process and print B&W film. At age 12 he took his first photography course at the Institute of Arts and Sciences in Manchester.
Tom continued his love of photography by reading any type of book he could find on lighting, posing and the craft of photography. While in the Navy a couple of friends ask him to photograph their wedding. He loved the whole process so he started Gibbons Photography in Manchester upon leaving the Navy. Three years later Tom opened his first studio and continued for the next 43 years full time. Now semi retired he photographs black and white portraits and scenic images which he has displayed and sold in various locations.
